CWRU Libraries migrating to a new service platform

In June 2025, the CWRU Libraries, along with the OhioLINK academic library consortium, will transition to a new library services platform (LSP). The LSP is the suite of software that libraries use to acquire, manage and lend resources— as well as allowing users to search for, find, and access those resources. The Freedman Fellows Program is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year

This program offers support and resources from subject-matter specialists at Kelvin Smith Library, and up to $15,000 in funding for CWRU faculty to develop digital research projects or innovative technology-enabled instruction.

The new KSL Collections Annex, located in the secure, climate-controlled 11000 Cedar Incubator, brings invaluable resources back to campus. This expansion replaces off-site storage, making the collection more accessible for research and scholarly pursuits, while also freeing up space for special collections and future acquisitions.

In March of 2024, the Faculty Senate approved a CWRU Faculty Open Access Policy.
